About Szabi
Photographer.
Explorer. Storyteller.
With over two decades behind the lens and a passion for wild places, I've spent much of my life traveling the globe, photographing in more than 90 countries and immersing myself in diverse cultures, landscapes, and ecosystems.
An award winning photographer, my work has been published internationally and featured in magazines. Now based in Australia, my focus lies in capturing life beneath the surface, documenting marine wildlife and remote environments in a way that sparks connection, curiosity, and respect. As a certified PADI Rescue Diver, SSI Divemaster and PADI Freediving Instructor, I've spent countless hours in the water, learning how to approach animals calmly and ethically.
Whether you're joining me on a trip, browsing prints, or just here for inspiration, my goal is always the same: to tell real stories about the wild, and to protect the places and creatures that make this planet extraordinary.
Recognition
Published internationally
Over the years, my photography has been published internationally and featured in magazines. In 2007, one of my documentary images was selected for a global National Geographic exhibition showcasing the top 150 photos worldwide.
This recognition reflects a career built on genuine commitment to honest, meaningful storytelling through the camera.

How I work
The principles behind every shot
Every image I make is guided by the same set of values I bring to life in the field. These aren't rules I follow. They're convictions I've built over 20 years of working with wildlife and wild places.
Ethics first
Animal wellbeing always comes before the photograph. If an encounter feels wrong, we leave. No exceptions.
Patience over pursuit
The best images come from stillness and waiting. If you chase, you lose. The ocean rewards those who are calm.
Local knowledge
I work exclusively with local guides and operators who know their environments and share a commitment to responsible travel.
